Electric car, for or against?

Green vehicles are not the invention of modern times. Prototypes were already created in 1836. However, due to the restrictions of contemporary technology, at the beginning of the 20th century these cars were replaced by vehicles with internal combustion engines, which made it possible to achieve much higher speeds. In addition, the mass production of internal combustion cars by Ford in the years 1908-1912 was also of great importance. Today, car manufacturers recognize the superiority of electric vehicles over gas. Temporary solution were hybrid cars. In fact, these were cars with a combustion engine and an electric motor, whose main task was to obtain energy during braking and to use it when starting. However, the role of electrical components in these cars is constantly increasing. Why such a solution? The driving force of electric cars is, of course, the electricity previously stored in lithium-ion batteries. The sources of this energy are, among others, fossil fuels, biomass or various renewable natural resources such as wind power, which combustion is much less harmful to the environment than the combustion of conventional fuels, and even energy production - preferable. These cars are also much quieter and therefore much more bearable to drive around. The risk of an explosion in an accident or when refuelling is also much lower. However, not only ecology is important, but also economy and comfort. Decidedly, the travel costs are convincing. Overcoming the 100 km episode does not exceed 0.5-1.2 Euro. For comparison, crossing the same section with combustion vehicle costs about 7.5 Euro. In addition, these cars are not emergency the engines have a very simple structure thanks to few moving parts, which allows you the roadster to save on repairs and operation. Many savings also give the solution of regenerative braking, which allows the recovery of braking energy and use it when starting and for other lanes. A positive aspect is also the absence of gearbox and clutch, the car always gets very good acceleration. The journey, especially in traffic, then becomes much more pleasant. The electric car is also much quieter than ordinary internal combustion cars. So, we can enjoy the trip, quietly listening to music. Many speak in favour, but we can't forget the weaknesses of electric solutions, especially about the battery and its disposal. Although the car can run on a single battery for about 10 years, this is not about what will happen after a period of use. Perhaps until then safe methods of recycling will be developed. But this is of course a vast defect. It is important to mention also the relatively short range. Even though these cars have a very good performance, such as the new Tesla Roadster model of Tesla Motors, which can reach the speed of 100km/h in 4 seconds, they are not good for long distances. Due to limited battery capacity and little space to store energy, their maximum range is 200 to 300 km. However, it is of course an advantage that they are perfectly suited for city driving. Also, the better and better models are already produced, as mentioned Tesla Roadster that the range with a fully charged battery is already 394 km. Does this market have a future? The production of electric cars in the world has increased from 500 to 150,000.
